  1. Beach Cleanup

    China Primary’s fourth graders participated in a beach cleanup with the Surfrider Foundation at Lincolnville Beach. They also completed a habitat monitoring form – noting areas of erosion and problems found at the beach. #WeAreRSU18 #CPSdragons


  2. Weathering + Erosion

    May 13, 2024

    Throughout a science unit on weathering and erosion, the fourth graders at China Primary School learned how humans can reduce the effects from these natural processes by thinking like engineers. At the end of their unit, Mrs. Jacobs’ students completed a STEM challenge to design a house to withstand the destruction of a hurricane. Each group built a house given limited resources to resist different amounts of wind, rain, and flooding. #WeAreRSU18 #CPSdragons


  3. Maine State House + Blaine House

    May 6, 2024

    Third graders at China Primary School went on a field trip to the Maine State House and Blaine House. Students were able to tour and explore both places while learning about their history. Throughout the tour, students were making connections to what they have been learning about in regards to our great state. Students also were able to sit in on the House of Representatives and watch them vote! They met China’s Representative, Katrina Smith! One student exclaimed, “This was the best field trip ever!” #WeAreRSU18 #CPSdragons


  4. Maine Agriculture in the Classroom

    May 3, 2024

    Mrs. Champagne’s kindergarten students at China Primary School welcomed a special visitor into their classroom. Miss Liz read them a story called The Wakame Gatherers by Holly Thompson. Students made their own Wakame, explored seaweed powder, and learned how seaweed can be gathered and used. #WeAreRSU18 #CPSdragons
