Meet Kahlie Desrosiers, Dean of Students at CPS
Meet Kahlie Desrosiers, Dean of Students at China Primary School!
What was your greatest memory from last school year?
Several of my favorite memories over the last few years have been when our schools participated in the Read-a-Thon. I love bringing activities to our school to promote a love of reading for children. During these events students became so invested they were able to earn pie-ing their teachers and duct taping their principal to the wall! Such a great example of making learning fun for all students!
What are you most looking forward to about this upcoming school year?
I am most looking forward to becoming part of the China Primary School family and helping the staff and students there have the best year ever!
Tell us about your family!
I live in Oakland with my family. My family includes my husband, Josh, my son, Aiden (11), and my
daughter, Emilyn (9), as well as our two dogs, Ruth Anne and Poppy. My kiddos keep us very busy but some of my very favorite hats I wear are Baseball Mom and Dance Mom.
What is your favorite thing about being part of RSU 18?
My favorite thing about being a part of RSU 18 is how much it feels like home to me. I grew up at the Bean School and came through Messalonskee High School. My kids have been in school in RSU 18 their entire school career. I feel such a deep connection to our school community.
What is the most rewarding and the most challenging part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the growth of our students because of the hard work and dedication of our teachers and staff. We truly do work to provide the best environment for every child every day. The most challenging part of this job is how personally invested we become. I am so invested in the academic and emotional success of each of our students!
